As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team and play a key role in supporting both our doctors and patient experience. Position Overview The Dental Hygienist is an essential provider within our practice, responsible for delivering high-quality preventative and therapeutic dental care. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a genuine passion for patient education and overall oral health. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and motivated to help patients achieve long-term oral health in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Support: Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing. Conduct thorough periodontal assessments and charting. Take and interpret digital radiographs. Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants. Assist in diagnosing and co-planning treatment with the doctor. Patient Care: Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, periodontal health, and preventative care. Build strong relationships with patients to improve compliance and long-term outcomes. Provide a comfortable, reassuring experience for patients of all ages. Clearly communicate treatment recommendations and next steps. Operational Support: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in digital systems. Ensure treatment rooms are prepared and stocked for efficiency. Collaborate with doctors, assistants, and front desk team to optimize patient flow. Support recall and continuing care programs. Compliance & Safety: Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols. Maintain sterilization standards and proper documentation. Stay up to date with best practices and continuing education requirements. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 1â2 years of dental assisting experience preferred (new graduates welcome to apply). Experience with Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software is a plus. Education & Certification: Associate or Bachelorâs degree in Dental Hygiene required. Current Illinois Dental Hygienist License required. Current CPR certification required. Local anesthesia certification preferred. Skills: Strong clinical and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication and patient education abilities. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment. Knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and chairside techniques. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
