Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will perform advanced chairside procedures (coronal polishing, sealants, radiographs, temporary and direct restorations), assist with complex dental treatments, and support the delivery of exceptional patient care. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your ability to handle administrative tasks and ensure infection control, will contribute to a smooth and efficient dental practice. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, surgical and pediatric (limited) treatments, using four-handed dentistry techniques Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed in accordance with HIPAA and infection control standards Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment Manage patient records with Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental histories, treatment plans, and progress notes Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient flow efficiently Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and printers, and other imaging equipment for precise diagnostics (Vatech CBCT) Maintain thorough knowledge of dental terminology and coding to facilitate accurate communication and documentation across all clinical activities Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or specialty practice Demonstrated proficiency in chairside assisting, including taking X-rays, managing infection control protocols, and supporting complex procedures such as prosthodontics or endodontics Familiarity with Open Dental Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices necessary for maintaining a safe clinical environment Join us in delivering outstanding dental care by leveraging your technical expertise and compassionate approach.
