Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, updating patient information, medical documentation, and medical coding efficiently. Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient flow seamlessly. Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and proper infection control procedures to ensure patient safety. Measure vital signs and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures to promote comfort for young patients. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices to foster long-term oral health. Collaborate with the team using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental technology and clinical practices to continually improve service quality. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging equipment safely and effectively. Excellent understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and general dentistry procedures. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry cases is highly desirable. Certified in chairside assisting; additional certifications in medical coding or endodontics are advantageous. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to educate patients clearly and compassionately.
