Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental clinic. Duties Assist dentists with chairside procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique standards. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography tools. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix to ensure accurate documentation of patient information and treatment plans. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient health status before, during, and after procedures. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions in clear, understandable terms. Support infection control protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information and maintain a sterile environment. Collaborate with the dental team to facilitate efficient scheduling, reception duties, and overall clinic operations. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a dental clinic environment, with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and handling dental instruments efficiently. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training program completion is required; additional certifications in medical coding or pediatrics are a plus.
