Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during various procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinic activities. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing chairside support, handling dental instruments, and managing patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while adhering to infection control protocols. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry or general dentistry needs. Manage administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and coordinating follow-up visits. Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards to promote patient safety and clinic cleanliness. Support the dental team with vital signs measurement, medical coding for insurance claims, and assisting with complex procedures such as prosthodontics or endodontics. Skills Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for efficiency during procedures. Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices accurately. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics; also capable of explaining treatment plans clearly. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to patient privacy and data security in medical documentation. Background in pediatric dentistry or experience working in general dentistry practices is highly desirable.
