Duties Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and dental examinations. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care tailored to pediatric or adult needs. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Review documentation for accuracy, update dental charts, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with medical imaging is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a dental clinic environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
