Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and effective treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures, including providing support during examinations, restorations, and other dental treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and image quality while adhering to infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in electronic medical record (EMR) systems Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Support pediatric dentistry cases by working with young patients in a gentle, caring manner tailored to pediatrics needs. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical coding as necessary, and assist in managing dental records efficiently. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance is essential. Prior experience in pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus but not mandatory.
