Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Ocala, FL

Responsibilities Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical records regularly, and assist with medical coding as needed for billing purposes. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems for scheduling, documentation, and billing. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental practice. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Prior experience in general dentistry or dental clinic environments demonstrating excellent patient assessment skills and documentation review capabilities.
