Vinton Family Dental is looking for a dedicated Dental Assistant who will make a visit to our office the most pleasant experience possible for patients, while also helping the office run efficiently. Excellent customer service and administrative skills along with fluency in current dental assisting techniques are required. Front desk experience is preferred. The Dental Assistant should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. Candidate should be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to execute office procedures effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities Make patients feel welcome at Vinton Family Dental Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed Capturing digital x-rays Sterilizing instruments according to regulations Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Assisting dentist in managing dental emergencies Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures Skills Proven experience as a dental assistant Positive attitude and strong, proactive work ethic Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations required by OSHA Ability to perform regulated, non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable High school diploma; RDA or CDA required Additional certification or training is an asset Front desk experience is preferred Pay: $20.00 - $29.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Bereavement leave Continuing education credits Disability insurance Employee discount Life insurance Paid jury duty Paid time off Professional development assistance Retirement plan Uniform allowance Work Location: In person
