Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist on Mondays 7:45 until about 5:30 with ability to flex up as desired. In this energetic role, you will provide preventive oral health services, educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles, and perform general prophylaxis procedures. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Assess soft tissues for disease and recognize the need for further soft tissue management in the office setting or referral when appropriate. Be able to recognize and chart areas of bony attachment loss. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting findings. As a preventive focused practice be anble to educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care tailored to their individual needs. Take and interpret medical imaging, including digital X-rays and panoramics, while maintaining infection control and aseptic techniques. Review documentation for accuracy and chart conditions of concern and need. Be able to recognize and refer needed advanced treatment needs to appropriate specialty. Help with sterilization of instruments. Sterilize the hygiene room between patients. Help with general office needs as they arise and time allows. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license with current registration in the state of CT. Proven experience in dental office settings, including familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft and Dexis which we use. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures. Experience working with routine pediatric patients. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and review medical records thoroughly. Knowledge of medical coding practices related to dental procedures is a plus.
