The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care across various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and orthodontics. This role offers an opportunity to work in a modern dental clinic utilizing advanced technology such as 3D scanners and electronic health records systems. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining a smooth workflow and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained
• Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
• Record vital signs and medical history information accurately within EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic
• Manage medical documentation and records with precision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy standards
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed
• Perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures
• Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and current infection control protocols
• Assist with medical imaging procedures and monitor patient comfort throughout treatments
• Ensure all clinical areas are sterile and organized according to infection control guidelines

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialty practice; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and data security
• Familiarity with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry methods
• Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
