Preston-Taylor Community Health Centers, Inc. is composed of a team of dedicated health care professionals that have at heart the mission of the organization of providing comprehensive primary health care services to the residents of the four-county service area of West Virginia in Preston, Taylor, Tucker, and Grant Counties regardless of their ability to pay. This is accomplished through the provision of primary care services that are culturally sensitive and relevant to the needs of the community. In supporting the delivery of activities deriving from 6 Community Medical Health Care Centers, 2 Pharmacies, 2 Dental Centers, an Optometry office, and a School Based Health Center, we are seeking a part-time and/or full-time Dental Hygienist to join the organization. This position will work from the Dental Center of Taylor County located in Grafton, West Virginia. Primary Responsibilities: · Provide comprehensive preventive dental care including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, fluoride treatments, and sealants · Perform thorough oral health assessments including periodontal charting, caries risk assessment, and evaluation of oral conditions · Obtain high-quality digital radiographs and intraoral images in accordance with clinical guidelines · Deliver patient-centered oral health education tailored to age, risk level, and individual needs (oral hygiene instruction, nutrition counseling, product recommendations) · Support disease prevention and early intervention through risk-based care and evidence-based practices · Accurately document clinical findings, treatment provided, and patient interactions in the electronic dental record (EDR) · Review and update patient medical histories; recognize conditions that impact dental care and communicate appropriately with the dental team · Collaborate with dentists and care teams to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and continuity of care · Assist in coordination of care, including referrals and follow-up for restorative or urgent needs · Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols in compliance with CDC and OSHA guidelines · Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of dental equipment and operatories · Participate in community outreach and school-based dental programs as applicable · Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment and assist with additional duties as needed to support patient care and clinic operations Qualifications: · Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of West Virginia · Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree) · Current CPR/BLS certification · Local anesthesia certification (preferred or required based on WV regulations) · Experience with electronic dental records (EDR) and digital radiography · Strong knowledge of preventive dentistry, periodontal therapy, and evidence-based clinical practices · Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and engage patients of all ages and backgrounds · Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a commitment to serving underserved and diverse populations · Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-based care model · Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management · Willingness to participate in community outreach and school-based dental programs Salary & Benefits: · Competitive pay · Hours vary on part-time/full-time status Applications: Team oriented individuals with a positive outlook on growth and eager to support the pursuit of new opportunities to better the health of the communities should send their resumes to the following email: HR@ptchc.com PTCHC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
