Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures. Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist with accurate diagnoses. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance for privacy and security. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Conduct vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in dental assisting techniques. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols. Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety guidelines. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices and working with children is highly desirable. Skilled in chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during procedures. Knowledge of 3D scanners and medical coding is advantageous but not required.
