Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented experienced Dental Assistant to support our dental team in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for promoting oral health. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting with clinical procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental histories. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Obtain vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote ongoing oral health. Maintain an organized workflow by coordinating with the dental receptionist for appointment scheduling and patient flow management. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, and record management. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience assisting with pediatric patients and understanding pediatric dentistry best practices is preferred. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners when necessary for advanced diagnostics. Familiarity with medical coding and documentation practices aligned with HIPAA compliance is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental assisting roles across specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics.
