Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental team. We are a small, single Doctor office located in Temecula. Most of our team has been here over 15 years! We are a close-knit group and we strive on communication and working as a TEAM regardless of your title to provide excellent patient care everyday. The ideal candidate must have a passion for dentistry, be a team player, willing to learn and grow, is independent, motivated, has good time management skills, reliable and can problem solve along with a strong understanding of dental setups, procedures and terminology. This role involves assisting the dentist during various treatments, assisting hygiene with occasional Perio charting or x-rays if needed, sterilization of instruments, placing orders for the back office and ensuring a smooth workflow within the dental clinic. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in Dentrix Conduct preliminary assessments including recording medical histories. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-operative care. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment. Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a comfortable atmosphere for young patients. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage appointments and patient flow effectively. Stay updated on advancements in dental technology, including 3D scanning and medical imaging. Experience The ideal candidate will possess: Experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting, with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics being highly desirable. Proficiency in using Dentrix software for managing patient records. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and coding practices. A solid understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques relevant to dental procedures. Previous experience in chairside assisting is essential, along with the ability to perform medical documentation accurately.
