Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Orange, CA
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry practices. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring patient comfort, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental office. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including Endodontics and general dentistry tasks. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar systems, including medical coding when necessary. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care. Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out processes, and other receptionist duties as required. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and infection control protocols. Provide support in administrative tasks to enhance office efficiency. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry practices. Experience with Dentrix software or similar dental management systems is a plus. Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is an advantage but not mandatory.
