Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, and endodontics, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols Take high-quality X-ray images and operate digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with HIPAA regulations Conduct vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry settings Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records efficiently Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate precise communication and documentation within the clinic Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties and medical documentation Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately and safely Excellent understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Skilled in chairside assisting techniques across various specialties like prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times Capable of handling administrative responsibilities such as medical coding, managing medical records, and supporting the dental receptionist role when needed Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
