Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are met. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools. Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy. Conduct vital signs assessments and document medical histories to support comprehensive patient care. Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation efficiently. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic role with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical coding, endodontics, prosthodontics, or related specialties is highly desirable.
