Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. The Dental Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our practice, including chairside assisting, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. ( Requires License/ Certificate ) Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in EMR systems. Manage dental records, including medical documentation and coding, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Perform basic laboratory tasks such as making impressions or preparing materials for prosthodontics and endodontics procedures. Utilize dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling appointments and managing patient information. Maintain infection control protocols and aseptic techniques throughout the clinic. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure efficient patient flow and communication. Requirements Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, particularly in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry. Proficiency in using EMR systems; familiarity with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation processes. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
