Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and dental hygiene procedures, with a focus on delivering high-quality services in a welcoming environment. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, patient assessments, and supporting overall patient education while maintaining strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health. Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring proper technique and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment. Monitor and review medical records for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation review. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record keeping. Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized knowledge of pediatric dental care and anatomy. Ensure all clinical areas are sanitized and organized according to infection control standards. Qualifications Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state licensure. Proven experience in general dentistry settings with familiarity in dental assisting procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Proficiency with Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
