Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease Laser certified preferred Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical history and vital signs to ensure safety and personalized care Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with infection control protocols Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care to promote long-term dental health Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and legal standards Support infection control procedures by adhering to aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols in the dental office Skills Proficiency with Dentrix dental software for scheduling, documentation, and record keeping Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology for accurate communication and documentation Strong focus on patient comfort, infection prevention, and aseptic technique Ability to assess vital signs accurately and recognize signs that require immediate attention or referral Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while demonstrating empathy and professionalism Join us in making a difference through dedicated patient care!
