Clinical Dental Assistant (Full-time and Part-time Positions Available) Brooklyn Heights Pediatric Dentistry and Kinderee Family Dentistry is looking for a clinical dental assistant. This individual will support Doctors and dental hygienists in providing patient care handling clinical tasks. They will be trained to be well-rounded in all clinical activities including but not limited to preparing patient and treatment areas, sterilizing instruments, assisting during procedures, taking x-rays, and maintaining patient records. They will be critical to the success of the clinical operations of the offices. As a multi-functional assistant role, they assist the Doctors and hygienist team and will support all clinical assistant responsibilities as needed. Patient Preparation: Greeting and escorting patients to treatment rooms, and ensuring patient comfort Treatment Preparation: Preparing the treatment room, setting up instrument trays, and ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are available for procedures Assisting During Procedures: Providing chairside assistance to the dentist/hygienist during procedures, passing instruments, suctioning, and mixing materials Sterilization and Infection Control: Sterilizing instruments and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized treatment area, and following infection control protocols Radiography: Taking and processing dental x-rays under the supervision of the dentist/ hygienist Laboratory Tasks: Preparing materials for procedures like impressions, pouring and trimming study casts, and fabricating temporary restorations Post-Procedure Care: Providing patients with post-operative instructions and assisting with any necessary clean-up Record Keeping: Updating and maintaining patient records, including treatment information and medical histories Positive, can-do attitude Ability to thrive in team environment and work collaboratively Ability to multi-task and prioritize Understanding of patient experience Comfortable working with children of all ages Strong communication skills Curiosity and desire to learn and grow professionally within the dental industry Part-Time Position Required Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays (as needed), 8am - 6pm (could vary by day); 2 Saturdays a month; 8am - 2pm (could vary by day) Full-Time Position Required Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 8am - 6pm (could vary by day); 2 Saturdays a month; 8am - 2pm (could vary by day) Flexibility to work in-person in both offices: Brooklyn Heights Pediatric Dentistry (148 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY) and Kinderee Family Dentistry (2905 Fort Hamilton Parkway, Brooklyn, NY) Prolonged periods of standing Salary Range: $17.00 - $23.00/hourly depending on experience Please send your resume to Info@bhpdds.com Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule On-the-job training Opportunities for advancement Paid jury duty Paid time off Paid training Uniform allowance Work Location: In person
