Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies to ensure smooth clinical operations. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, prosthodontics, and endodontics with precision and professionalism. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA privacy standards. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical histories. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment and prevent infection transmission. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and reduce anxiety. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain infection control protocols including sterilization of instruments and proper disposal of biohazard materials. Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate accurate documentation and billing processes. Experience Prior experience working in a dental office setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry practices is essential. Proven proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records effectively. Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging equipment, and 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA guidelines. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and data security is required. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency during procedures.
