Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Centered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while ensuring HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and managing medical documentation with precision. Support four-handed dentistry practices by maintaining a clean, organized workspace and assisting with chairside procedures efficiently. Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical records management to facilitate accurate documentation. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing wellness. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a strong background in general dentistry; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical terminology and coding is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; certification in radiography is preferred. Strong understanding of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is advantageous.
