Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems) Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care tailored to their individual needs Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards Monitor patient comfort throughout treatment, providing chairside assistance and managing medical emergencies if necessary Experience Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is a plus Strong understanding of infection control procedures, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques Familiarity with general dentistry procedures, medical coding, and documentation review processes Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively about dental health topics using clear dental terminology Certification as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state licensing requirements Join us in creating healthier smiles every day!
