Dental Hygienist â Private Practice Job Overview We are a privately owned dental practice seeking a motivated and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our team. This role goes beyond routine hygieneâyouâll play a key part in educating patients, supporting periodontal health, and helping patients understand and accept recommended treatment. Weâre looking for someone who is confident, personable, and comfortable discussing gum health, treatment options, and adjunctive therapies. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing as needed Take digital X-rays using Dexis Accurately chart and document in Open Dental Assess periodontal health and identify areas of concern Educate patients on gum disease, oral hygiene, and long-term prevention Present and explain treatment recommendations clearly and confidently Promote adjunctive therapies such as Arestin and Perio Protect Support case acceptance by helping patients understand the value of treatment Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols Qualifications Active California Dental Hygienist license Experience with Open Dental and Dexis preferred Strong understanding of periodontal therapy and gum disease management Confident in patient communication and education Comfortable discussing treatment plans and increasing case acceptance Friendly, team-oriented, and professional demeanor What Weâre Looking For A hygienist who takes ownership of patient care Someone who can build trust and rapport with patients A team player who wants to contribute to practice growth Passion for educating patients and improving overall healthânot just âcleaning teethâ What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Flexible schedule (full-time or part-time) Supportive, collaborative team Opportunity to grow your skills in perio therapy and patient communication Why Join Our Practice?
