Job Summary Are you a hard working, enthusiastic, friendly and experienced Dental Assistant? Are you dependable, proactive and a team player? Do you enjoy a 4 day work week? If so, then you are just the Dental Assistant we are looking for to join our team at our fun, fast paced General Dentist office. Experience with Dentrix, Dexis, Microsoft Office and Blue Note are preferred but not a requirement to apply. Pay is based on experience. NC Radiology Certification is a must! Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection control protocols. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems (Dentrix), including updating medical history and treatment notes. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in EMR systems (Dentrix), for managing medical records and documentation. Familiarity with dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures and 3D scanners used in advanced diagnostics. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization protocols to ensure patient safety. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry to accurately document patient information. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology required; additional certifications in dentistry coding are a plus.
