Orthodontic Assistant - Ski Town Orthodontics - Glenwood Springs, CO

Overview: We are looking for an orthodontic assistant! We are willing to train on the job. Must be willing to travel, but can car pool with team. Traveling locations Glenwood, Carbondale, Aspen, Basalt Locations. IRA, fuel stipend, bonus system in place, free orthodontic treatment. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus! Please find below a summary of the responsibilities for the Orthodontic Assistant role:Clinical Duties: - Assist the orthodontist with procedures, including adjustments, bonding, and removal of braces. - Place new wires and o-ties. - Use high-speed instruments and deliver retainers. - Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) and clinical photos. - Perform laboratory tasks, such as pouring models and fabricating retainers. - Monitor patient vital signs and ensure comfort and safety during treatment. Patient Care and Documentation: - Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and progress notes.- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post -treatment care. Office and Sterilization: - Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments. - Assist with appointment scheduling, patient flow, and inventory management. Skills: To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills: - Proficiency in aseptic technique to maintain infection control standards - Knowledge of medical imaging techniques for capturing dental radiographs - Familiarity with medical documentation practices to accurately record patient information - Understanding of medical terminology related to orthodontics - Experience working with Could 9 or similar dental practice management software - Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients in a compassionate manner - Competence in taking dental radiographs (x-rays) and ensuring quality images - Familiarity with medical coding for accurate billing purposes - Strong assisting skills to support the orthodontist during procedures - Knowledge of vital signs monitoring to ensure patient safety We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
