Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant II to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed for pediatric and general dentistry patients. Support infection control protocols by maintaining a clean environment, sterilizing instruments, and adhering to OSHA standards. Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures for insurance billing, and managing medical records efficiently. Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist when needed, greeting patients and scheduling appointments. Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners to assist with prosthodontics or orthodontic cases. Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to promote overall wellness. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and vital signs measurement in pediatric or general dentistry settings. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with medical terminology, coding for insurance purposes, and electronic health record management. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists. Certification in CPR/BLS is preferred; additional certifications in radiography or infection control are advantageous.
