Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, and prosthodontics, using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly with proper aseptic technique. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including intraoral and extraoral images, utilizing medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners when applicable. Monitor and record vital signs and medical history information to ensure patient safety before procedures. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support infection control protocols by following strict sterilization procedures and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Assist with administrative tasks such as checking in patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current certification. Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems like open dental, Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety guidelines. Experience assisting in pediatric dentistry and familiarity with pediatric-specific protocols is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and medical coding related to dental procedures. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and specialists like prosthodontists or endodontists.
