Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic while adhering to strict health and safety standards. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure infection control. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and safety protocols are followed. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, suctioning, and managing patient comfort throughout procedures. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history accurately for each patient visit. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with team members and patients. Uphold infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with the team on general dentistry cases as well as specialized areas like pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and orthodontics. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting practices. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for efficiency during procedures. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist in pediatric dentistry settings when required. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages and team members.
