Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, suctioning, and managing patient comfort throughout procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary to support comprehensive patient care. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and maintaining organized medical documentation. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency with dental software systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately while adhering to safety standards. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is preferred. Familiarity with medical coding, medical terminology, and medical documentation is advantageous. Florida Certified Dental Radiographer certificate is required for x-ray imaging tasks. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in chairside assisting is preferred but not required.
