Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Surgical Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. Your expertise will support various dental specialties, including implantology, prosthodontics, endodontics. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by preparing and passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and managing dental materials efficiently. Take and develop X-ray images with precision, ensuring accurate positioning and adherence to safety protocols. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Denticon to document patient information accurately and securely while complying with HIPAA regulations. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies and ensure all equipment is properly sterilized following infection control standards. Monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort. Maintain detailed medical documentation including medical history updates, dental terminology records, and procedural notes for each patient visit. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently. Assist with general dentistry procedures as needed, demonstrating proficiency in dental assisting techniques such as aseptic technique and anatomy knowledge. Collaborate seamlessly with the team in four-handed dentistry setups to optimize workflow and enhance patient care delivery. Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners for implant planning or prosthodontic work as required. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially within surgical dentistry settings. Proficiency in dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, X-ray taking, and infection control practices. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Denticon for managing medical records efficiently. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and patient information. Experience with medical imaging equipment and understanding of anatomy relevant to dental surgery enhances performance in this role.
