Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible during their appointment Sterilize dental instruments Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Educate patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing and flossing techniques) Take digital x-rays, intra-oral photos, intra-oral scans utilizing iTero Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Monitor supplies Provide prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride, sealant procedures Skills Proven experience as Dental Hygienist In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Diploma in Dental Hygiene Valid Florida license Certification in local anesthesia CPR certification Knowledge in Open Dental software is a plus!
