Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Ada, OK

We are currently looking for a Full Time Dental Assistant to join our Dental Services Operations Group team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center working 7:30AM-6:00PM - Tu We Th Fr. Summary: Provides clinical, clerical, and technical support within the Chickasaw Nation Dental Clinic. Responsibilities: Prepares patients for procedures and assists dentists during examinations and treatments Performs coronal polishing and applies fluoride under a dentistâs direction Takes dental x-rays, ensuring imaging meets diagnostic quality and safety standards Maintains proper infection control, including instrument sterilization and asepsis Assists in the preparation, setup, and turnover of operatories between procedures Educates patients on oral hygiene and provide preventative care instructions Reiterates treatment plans and provide post-treatment care instructions Assists with scheduling referrals and managing the patient phone board Inputs and documents patient data in the Electronic Medical Record, including superbill coding and scribing progress notes Maintains operatory cleanliness and ensure all supplies are adequately restocked Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner Determines needs and seeks positive experiences and outcomes Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment Maintains and promotes professionalism Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area Performs all other duties as assigned Competencies: Essential: Able to follow instructions, both written and oral Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines Working knowledge of dental terminology Ability to proofread for spelling, grammar, and formatting errors and make appropriate modifications Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management Skills: Essential: Intermediate computer skills Experience: Nonessential: 1 year directly related experience Education: Essential: High School, GED or Equivalent Nonessential: Technical School Nonessential: Completion of a dental assisting course or job training in a dental clinic is strongly preferred Credentials: Essential: Pass general background check Basic Life Support (BLS) Radiation Safety Permit Pit and Fissure Sealant Certification Essential: Must obtain BLS certification within 30 days of employment Radiation Safety & Protection certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment Pit & Fissure Sealants certification must be obtained within the first year of employment Working Conditions: Essential: Works in a hospital or clinic environment Fast-paced environment Sitting up to 25% of shift Standing up to 50% of shift Walking up to 25% of shift Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach Sometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbs May be required to assist individuals who are hostile, agitated or under the influence Subject to traveling and working at other locations or in other environments Potential exposure to contagious diseases Pass pre-employment drug test Training It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
