Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Assess patientsâ vital signs and medical history to ensure safe treatment planning and delivery. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices tailored to their individual needs, emphasizing preventive care. Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures with gentle chairside support, ensuring a positive experience for young patients. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document treatment details accurately and efficiently. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment. Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate medical coding. Support general dentistry procedures by providing effective four-handed dentistry assistance alongside the dentist. Conduct patient assessments, including medical imaging and vital signs monitoring, to inform treatment plans. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to communicate effectively within the team and with patients. Skills Proficiency in dental office management software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and techniques for treating children with care and patience. Experience in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments efficiently during procedures. Knowledge of infection control standards, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures. Ability to review medical coding accurately for billing and documentation purposes. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach that fosters trust and comfort. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical terminology, and documentation review processes. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures and overall patient health assessment.
