Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance coverage, and assist with patient intake processes Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring optimal flow of daily patient visits Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance claims submissions, and follow up on outstanding payments using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Prepare and review medical and dental documentation for accuracy and completeness, including care plans and treatment notes Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and redirecting calls as needed Maintain accurate dental records and manage filing of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist the dental team during procedures by sterilizing instruments and preparing treatment areas as needed Skills Extensive experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms Proficiency in medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and documentation review to ensure accurate claims processing Strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to clinical procedures and patient care Familiarity with insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers, and understanding of ICD coding standards Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively serve diverse patient populations Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; typing skills (10 key typing) for efficient data entry Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA guidelines Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with office management tasks such as filing, scheduling, and health information management is a plus Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Join our team to make a positive impact on patientsâ oral health while advancing your career in a supportive setting that values your skills and dedication!
