DENTAL ASSISTANTS with EFDA : Hamm Dentistry is a general dentist's office serving Roseburg and the surrounding area. We work in a modern and expanding work environment, with a hardworking team that's dedicated to a high quality of care with a patient focused drive. This position is to assist the doctor in day-to-day operations in a professional and courteous manner. Responsibilities include: Chair-side Assisting - During procedures: pass instruments, collect supplies, apply suction - Set up and disinfect the operatory for each patient - Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment - Collect and record patient health histories - Patient management during procedures - Dental procedure isolation techniques - Preparation of dental materials, cements, amalgam, composite, impression material, etc - Dental charting - Prevention and management of dental medical emergencies - Inventory control and management, stock operatory and rooms - Take impressions - physical and digitally - Provide patients with instructions for oral care following dental procedures - Perform tasks using basic typing and computer skills - Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene Dental Infection Control Procedures - Clean instruments, sterilize/disinfect, and re-circulation - Disinfect dental treatment rooms - Follow the office's infection control plan Dental Laboratory - Pour impressions to make stone and plaster models as needed - Trim models - Fabricate mouth guards, temporary crowns, custom impression trays and other appliances - Prepare casting models and dies - Assist in cleaning the lab and tools Expanded Functions - Take digital x-rays - Apply topical fluoride and medicinal treatments - Prepare and apply dental sealants EFDA & X-ray certification required. We are open to patients Monday through Thursday, M/T 9 AM – 5 PM and closed for lunch from 1 – 2 PM & W/TH 8 AM – 4 PM and closed for lunch from 12 – 1 PM.
