Job Summary Airway-Focused Orthodontist , orthodontic care for children and adult: We are seeking a motivated and patient-centered Airway-Focused Orthodontist to join our multidisciplinary dental team. The ideal candidate is passionate about integrating orthodontics, airway health, TMJ function, and overall craniofacial development into comprehensive treatment planning. This position is well suited for an orthodontist interested in working in a collaborative environment that emphasizes functional outcomes in addition to esthetics. Working Schedule: This position is currently available every other Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM , with the opportunity to grow into a weekly Wednesday schedule as the role and patient demand expand. Responsibilities Diagnose and treat malocclusion with airway-centered orthodontic principles Evaluate patients for sleep-disordered breathing risk factors Integrate orthodontic treatment with TMJ stability and functional occlusion Collaborate with providers in physical therapy, sleep medicine, ENT, oral surgery, and restorative dentistry Interpret CBCT imaging for airway volume, skeletal relationships, and TMJ structures Provide early interceptive orthodontic treatment for pediatric airway development when appropriate Plan and coordinate pre-surgical orthodontics for orthognathic cases when indicated Utilize expansion techniques (RPE, MARPE, arch development strategies) when appropriate Support treatment planning involving occlusal appliances and functional orthopedic approaches Educate patients on the relationship between airway health, craniofacial growth, posture, and occlusion Maintain detailed documentation consistent with interdisciplinary care standards Qualifications DDS or DMD degree from an accredited institution Certificate in Orthodontics from an accredited residency program Experience or strong interest in airway-focused orthodontic treatment planning Familiarity with CBCT airway evaluation Understanding of TMJ functional orthodontics Experience with expansion techniques and growth guidance Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills Commitment to long-term patient relationships and outcome-based care Preferred Experience (Not Required) Experience treating sleep-disordered breathing patients Collaboration with ENT and sleep physicians Orthodontic preparation for orthognathic surgery Exposure to myofunctional therapy integration Knowledge of Piper classification or TMJ orthopedic stability concepts Practice Philosophy Our office has a long history of TMJ therapy and developed a great referral based dental office.
