Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant working exclusively on Tuesdays! Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are meticulously followed. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as OpenDental, maintaining accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide excellent chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and monitoring vital signs during procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental terminology to promote understanding and comfort. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment; familiarity with general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems like OpenDental; knowledge of medical coding and documentation is advantageous. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages and support the dental team effectively. Certification or training in chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques; CPR certification is a plus.
