Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care and have a strong foundation in dental hygiene practices. This role involves working closely with patients to provide high-quality dental care, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the treatment process. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and educating patients about preventive care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories. Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing using appropriate techniques. Utilize medical imaging to assist in diagnosing dental conditions. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist in infection control measures by adhering to aseptic techniques and maintaining a clean work environment. Collaborate with the dental team to deliver comprehensive patient care in both general and pediatric dentistry settings. Stay updated on dental terminology, medical coding, and EMR systems for effective communication within the practice. Requirements Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with Eaglesoft and Dentrix software is highly desirable. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively while assisting the dentist during procedures. Experience with patient care techniques, including documentation review and medical records management. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Commitment to providing high-quality care while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Certification as a Dental Hygienist and current state licensure are required.
