Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to ensure safe and effective treatment. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment that complies with HIPAA regulations. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care for pediatric patients is highly preferred. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review for accurate billing and record accuracy. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. Excellent communication skills for patient education, team collaboration, and conveying technical information clearly.
