Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health for patients of all ages. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and evaluate vital signs, medical imaging, and other diagnostic data to support comprehensive patient assessments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold safety standards. Review documentation, medical history, and medical coding to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, including working with pediatric patients and understanding their unique needs. Proficiency in using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record management. Strong understanding of infection control practices, including sterilization techniques and aseptic procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and basic medical coding practices related to dental care.
