Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient patient flow. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols. Support infection control procedures by practicing aseptic techniques and sterilizing instruments according to industry standards. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record-keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings is highly preferred. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical coding practices. Ability to perform dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and supporting pediatric dentistry procedures.
