Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilization techniques to ensure a safe and efficient workflow. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments with chairside assistance. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including updating medical history and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic technique, sterilization procedures, and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation systems is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines safely and effectively. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices for working with children patients. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or chairside assistant; capable of explaining procedures clearly to patients of all ages. Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing as required by state law; additional certifications in medical coding or pediatrics are advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and ensuring patient safety at all times.
