Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support dentists during patient procedures, ensure smooth clinic operations, and provide exceptional care to our patients. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Manage patient records by updating medical histories, documenting treatment details, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and assisting with appointment scheduling as a friendly dental receptionist. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse when necessary to ensure patient safety during treatments. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control standards at all times. Skills Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic or similar platforms for efficient documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately assist in various procedures. Experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to improve workflow efficiency. Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools confidently. Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, and collaborating with team members. Understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical coding standards necessary for accurate recordkeeping and billing processes.
