Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Take and interpret medical images such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support general dentistry procedures by assisting dentists during examinations and treatments Skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics is highly desirable for working with young patients Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment with compassion Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards Excellent communication skills to explain treatment plans clearly and foster a welcoming environment Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, medical imaging techniques, and EMR systems for efficient workflow Join us in creating healthier smiles through energetic teamwork, detailed patient care, and a commitment to excellence.
