Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring an aseptic environment through strict infection control protocols. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and digital imaging systems while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patients by taking vital signs, explaining procedures using clear dental terminology, and addressing their questions with professionalism and empathy. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team to ensure seamless clinic flow. Collaborate in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency during procedures and maintain high standards of infection control and aseptic technique. Work as a teammate and perform any duties necessary to help throughout the patient journey. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with dental software systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Proficiency in taking X-rays, operating medical imaging equipment, and understanding anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology while providing excellent patient care in pediatric dentistry or other specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics. Knowledge of medical coding and documentation practices related to dental assisting tasks. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; additional certifications in pediatrics or 3D scanner operation are advantageous.
