Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting orthodontists in delivering high-quality treatment. This position requires a strong understanding of orthodontic terminology, chairside assisting, and willingness to use leading orthodontic technologies. Duties Assist orthodontists during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and process X-rays and medical imaging as needed, adhering to safety regulations. Utilize software systems for patient documentation and record management. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain accurate medical records, including medical documentation and coding when necessary. Provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, especially young children. Collaborate with dental receptionists to ensure efficient patient scheduling and communication. Experience Previous experience in dental assisting or a dental clinic environment is preferred. Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques is highly desirable. Knowledge of orthodontics, infection control practices, and general dentistry principles is essential. Experience with 3D scanners and technical proficiency is considered an asset.
