Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor patient health status Conduct medical imaging procedures like X-rays with precision while maintaining infection control standards Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health Review and update medical records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments using aseptic techniques, and maintain a clean clinical environment Qualifications Valid Dental Hygiene license in accordance with state or regional licensing requirements Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for record keeping and documentation review Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, along with knowledge of pediatric-specific dental procedures Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology Skilled in chairside assisting, including patient assessment, medical coding, and handling dental assisting tools Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to ensure accurate medical records management Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team Join us to make a difference in patientsâ lives through compassionate care, technical excellence, and a vibrant team environment.
